This trend is directly driving customized FPC services to achieve dual optimization of cost and efficiency, creating development opportunities for domestic FPC customization companies. According to data from the China Electronic Circuit Industry Association, the localization rate of core raw materials for customized FPCs — such as base materials and copper foil — reached 65% in 2025, an increase of 20 percentage points from 2023. This supply chain localization has effectively reduced both raw material procurement costs and delivery lead times for customized FPCs.
In the past, custom FPC manufacturers relied heavily on imported core raw materials, which not only resulted in high procurement costs but also led to unstable delivery lead times due to the impact of the international trade environment, severely constraining the efficiency of customized FPC services. With technological breakthroughs achieved by domestic manufacturers of PI substrates and flexible copper-clad laminates (FCCL), the localization rate of raw materials has continued to rise. Custom FPC manufacturers can now source locally, reducing procurement costs by 15% to 20% while shortening raw material delivery lead times from 15–20 days to 7–10 days — significantly improving the responsiveness of customized FPC services.
Supply chain localization has also promoted the coordinated development of the customized FPC industrial chain. Domestic FPC customization companies are deepening their collaboration with local raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers to jointly optimize custom processes and enhance product quality. For example, raw material suppliers can develop custom substrates based on the specific needs of FPC customization companies, meeting the custom requirements of different application scenarios. Equipment manufacturers, in turn, are developing targeted intelligent equipment adapted to customized FPC production, thereby improving manufacturing efficiency.
